June McBurney


June has had a varied and interesting career beginning in 1958 as a Girl Friday. This entailed typing, clerical work and making coffee and running for lunches at Laboratory Supply & Chemical Company.

After studying Pitmans Shorthand at Belmore Tech. and improving her typing skills June commenced working as a Secretary to the Company Secretary of The Wholesale Drug Co. and then Personal Assistant and Secretary for the Managing Director of GEC Australia. After some years the next appointment was Personal Assistant and Managing Director for Merck Sharpe & Dohme (Pharmaceutical Company).

After 20 years in the corporate world June had a change of career and commenced working as a Sales Representative between 1978 and 1989. Firstly, with Décor Plastics, Burwood, next Defender Home Garden and CPI Kitchen tools and appliances.

June returned to corporate work between 1989 and 1999 as Personal Assistant and Secretary to Joint Managing Directors of Biomet Australia (orthopaedic supply company).

Moved to Wyong in 1999 and purchased lease with partner (Tony Price) of Central Coast Motel Cutler Drive, Wyong. In 2003 purchased freehold of Walcha Motel and retired in 2004.

2006 - Joined Wyong RSL Womens Bowling Club

2009-2012 President of Wyong RSL Womens Bowling Club

2007 Trained as Wedding Celebrant in 2007 and still active in 2015.

Between 1973 and 2011 actively involved in entertainment industry on the Club Circuit of NSW as Compere/Singer/Instrumentalist and Musical Theatre performer. Also upgraded license on 3 ton truck enabling June to drive pantomime troupes throughout country NSW in December for children’s Xmas entertainment during this period,

2000-2011 – Sang Xmas carols at St George Leagues Club every December – 10 years.

Elected as Director in 2011.
